During the night the Eden River running through the centre of Carlisle burst its banks causing extreme flooding to the ground floor of Mr & Mrs Jones’ terraced house.
This resulted in damage to the floorboards, skirting and plaster throughout the ground floor together with the new kitchen base units. Mr & Mrs Jones were devastated as they had only just moved back in following an earlier flood in January.
In response to a distressed call from Mr Jones, their insurers instructed a national franchised disaster restoration company to attend.
They installed four refrigerant humidifiers and four turbo dryers for approximately 12 weeks.
Within three days the insurance company’s nominated loss adjusters assessed the damage and assigned an approved local property repair company.
Following the removal of the drying out equipment this company made good repairs over another 16 week period.
